The Book of Love

Took the plunge and entered my first major short story competition, on Vocal+.

Here’s the link if you’d like to read it: https://vocal.media/families/the-book-of-love

The competition is sponsored by Moleskine, the makers of luxury stationery, particularly well known for their journals/notebooks, which are beautifully presented (I have a few).

The competition rules say the story has to revolve around someone who has just come into $20,000 - the top prize in the competition - and somewhere it must feature a little black book.

Mine is about grief, not a grief I have actually suffered myself but one which I will almost inevitably suffer in an imaginable future.

Hope you like it. I’ll let you know if I win!
